Ayşe Ezgi Öner

Student at Robert College

I'm a 18 year old, currently a junior in my high school. I call myself an entrepreneur. I've been involved in many activities ever since when I was little. I'm the CPO in RCJA, I'm a part of the honorary committee called the Feyyaz Berker Fellowship, I opened the Robert College Law Society as of this year and I've been involved in various organizations requiring teamwork and leadership. However, the most significant of all of the things I've experienced were the community involvement projects I've done. I'm in the CIP (Community Involvement Project) Board in Robert College and unlike many I do these project to pursue not an academic goal but for a rather moral goal. I took part in many international and national organizations about peace and entrepreneurship. I aspire to change the world, as I hope everybody does.

It's a GIVE and Take World.

I've started taking part in community involvement projects when I was 14. I mostly worked with children and met with various children coming from different backgrounds. I learned that sometimes even the smallest things which we regarded unimportant can make us happy as long as we learn how to add the pieces together and finish the puzzle of so-called happiness. I want to inspire many in the way of contributing to the society one way or another not just for the sake of doing something but also for the sake of doing something for oneself and others. I think the topic that I wish to talk about, community involvement projects and the benefits of it to the society, is highly related with the overall topic of constructing the future. The world is corrupt the way it is and it's certainly not right to leave it as it is. The structure of the future societies depend on us and only us, the future generations. It's time to take the initiative to do something and change it. Baby steps can lead us to a bright future, so why not start now?
