He enrolled in the international baccalaureate diploma programme (IBDP) in grades 10 and 11 and has become the first visually-impaired student to get a diploma from this programme. He got thirty four in total from his IB Exams, which is the highest point in his school, having studied both English and Arabic.

Fresh Insight

As the first blind IB student in Turkey, I was faced with many struggles. Finding ways to access materials has been difficult, but, with the help and support of my school and a variety of organisations, I overcame many obstacles to become an IB graduate. The learning journey has been rewarding and my experience, and the solutions afforded to me, has blazed a trail, opening doors for the students who will, hopefully, follow.
