Would you like to know how your life will turn out in the future? What if something bad happens to you? Would you stand and fight or fly away? Fighting makes us feel powerful and more confident about ourselves. Struggles add to our experience. But sometimes running away is a better option. In some situations we should be smart and not fight about it so we don’t get hurt. Flights of fancy and imagination ensure our world is filled with colour and innovation.

These decisions are the turning points in our lives. Would you act logically or follow your feelings? Would you fight or take flight?

As high school students, we all have dreams and goals that we want to achieve. It seems like there are many possibilities and endless roads untravelled. Since almost everybody has a goal in life, they all have something to strive for. Television and films can present an unrealistic reality. Sometimes there are some situations that we can’t deal with. Success comes with ambition. Ambition comes by following your dreams. Successful people never give up after achieving their goals; they set another one. That’s how life works. When you see your dream come true, you should pursue another one. Even if you fail, you can’t give up because there are always steps to take, there are always roads untravelled.

As high school students, and as a society, we are constantly searching and looking for new ideas that can help us shape our unknown future. Just like a pebble thrown into a pool of water, small ideas can have a subtle but significant effect. As we move into the future, these small ideas can become ever more important and useful. Every thought or action creates a ‘ripple’ that can have great effects on our planet and our lives. People should keep an open mind and value these small but unique ideas in order to develop. Good ideas inspire people to do better. Different ideas may inspire people to change.

As high school students, we face an uncertain future. People often ask what we will ‘be’ when we grow up, but we don’t know. We are already being told we may hold many different jobs in several different sectors. That means we will need a wide range of skills and attributes to successfully navigate the future. The world keeps changing; we have to be open to 'break through' to the new challenges an unknown future presents, and embrace the constant breakthroughs in technology and society which are now an irrefutable part of our world.
