The Art of Failure and Destroying the Box: The Journey of DI in Turkey

I would like to take the audience through the history of DI in Turkey and how it can and has opened so many doors to me and most everyone, who comes into contact with it. DI was a miserable failure for close to 3 years before being noticed. But we did not give up. The journey of DI in Turkey is truly the journey of all DI teams and really mirrors the philosophy of DI. It is a kind of "against all odds" kind of story. With DI I have seen the importance of creativity, risk-taking, taking oneself out of one's comfort zone and learning how to fail. These are all skills (along with many more, of course) that one will need to survive in the 21st century. The key is simply finding a safe and nurturing place to do that and allowing oneself to do things and try things never really ever imagined. Also how one has to keep reinventing oneself and never give in to the notion that there is nothing more to learn or fail at.

I have been living and working in Turkey since 1997. I have 2 teenage boys and a dog. Those. ..in that order, are my greatest passions. I am also passionate about my work and in particular my association with Destination Imagination (DI). I sing (poorly) in a band.
