How art and Creativity Transform Us

Have you ever thought of how the art you see in your daily life affects you? We see art in many different aspects of our lives. Each artwork we encounter in our life (whether it be a book, movie, song, or painting) affects our way of thinking and transforms us. In neuroscience, art stimulates certain parts of our brain positively. Art helps us discover who we are and allows us to dig deeper into our essence. Who we truly are, the things that shape our thoughts and actions are all build-ups of art that has transformed us throughout our lives.

Every little unimportant drawing, every little song, random movie, random painting in a museum, small artwork we see on the street, song we hear randomly on the radio, a photo we see while scrolling through social media… We may not be aware or maybe we never will be aware but all these things are subconsciously stored and have triggered a part of our brains that have led us here, to who we are now.

Student at Eyüboğlu Educational Institution

I am Mina Kadırgan, I’m an 11th grader at Eyüboğlu High School and am a part of the IBDP program. I love listening to various types of music, drawing, playing video games, and reading comic books. I have participated in multiple art forms throughout my life like singing, dancing, and playing the guitar. But the topic that interested me the most is animation. My dream is to study 2D animation at a reputable college. I decided to do this TED talk to express my thoughts and challenge myself.
