Are We the First Draft of Consciousness?

This talk questions whether human consciousness is truly unique. It argues that our thoughts and behaviors are shaped by biology, experience, and external inputs, rather than being fully independent.

By comparing humans with artificial intelligence, it suggests that both systems rely on similar processes of input, processing and response. It then examines recent experiments where a fruit fly’s brain was digitally replicated, showing that behavior can emerge from structure without explicit programming.

The talk ultimately asks: if behavior can be recreated, can subjective experience also be recreated, and what truly makes human consciousness special?
